Edward “Butch” Owen, age 54, passed away at his home in Dundas on Monday, January 15th after a long, courageous battle with lung cancer. Ed was born on February 12, 1969, in Rochester, MN, the son of Dale and Bonnie (Lick) Owen. He grew up in the Cannon Falls area and eventually split his time between Minnesota and Viroqua, WI. He attended Dakota County Technical College and went on to become a computer specialist for Zurich North America Insurance.
Anyone who ever met Ed, noticed his sarcastic sense of humor, his passion for his career, and his deep love of music.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jo; children, Bri Owen, James Matson, David Wolkenhauer, Bethany (Chris) Wolkenhauer; grandchildren, Carter & William Matson, and Mason Wolkenhauer; sister, Laurie Owen; as well as his niece, nephews, other extended family, close friends, and his beloved dog, Missy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lisa Owen.
A Celebration of Ed's Life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, January 26 at the Bierman, Benson & Langehough Funeral Home of Northfield. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
